European Commission to Launch Solar Energy Partnership with ETIP PV

European Commission to Launch Solar Energy Partnership with ETIP PV

The European Commission has unveiled plans to form a groundbreaking Co-Programmed European Partnership for solar energy, working in tandem with the European Technology and Innovation Platform (ETIP PV). This strategic move is part of the Commission's Horizon Europe Strategic Plan for 2025-2027, aiming to significantly bolster research and innovation (R&I) in the solar energy sector, writes PV Magazine.

The partnership aims to address the pressing challenges and harness the full potential of solar technology in Europe, enhancing the competitiveness of the European solar industry on a global stage.

This initiative will focus on developing a resilient European solar supply chain, shortening the transition from laboratory research to production, and promoting innovation in solar applications, including building-integrated and floating solar systems. It also aims to prioritize circularity within the solar industry, aligning with the EU's commitment to the green transition.
