Ukrainian, Slovak Firms Unveil Mobile Renewable Energy Power Plant Prototype
A consortium of Ukrainian and Slovak companies has presented a mobile renewable energy power plant, the MASWES-1/10 (Milestone in Autonomous Renewable Energy Solutions), capable of producing and storing energy through photovoltaic panels, micro wind turbines, and battery storage. Developed by Patriot-NRG, the system is designed to supply power to areas lacking grid access, especially during disruptions caused by missile attacks in Ukraine.
The prototype generates 20.5 kW of energy, using 62 m² of photovoltaic panels and two wind turbines with towers reaching heights between 7 and 14 meters. Energy is stored in batteries with a capacity of 41 kWh, and the system can also be connected to the grid if needed.
Weighing 6.7 tons and requiring a 200 m² setup area, the MASWES system can generate an annual output of 20-60 MWh, depending on the variant. It can charge two electric vehicles simultaneously with 7 kW each using solar power. Patriot-NRG plans to begin production in Ukraine next year, pending investor funding.
