Space Solar has recently completed successful testing of its groundbreaking HARRIER 360-degree power beaming technology demonstrator, marking a significant advancement in space-based solar power (SBSP). Conducted at Queen's University in Belfast, the test showcased the HARRIER's ability to beam energy in all directions without the need for large rotating joints, enhancing reliability and performance. This technology is a vital component of Space Solar’s CASSIOPeiA Solar Power Satellite concept, which aims to harness solar energy from space and transmit it to Earth using high-frequency radio waves. This achievement paves the way for the development of a larger system capable of delivering gigawatt-scale power, contributing to sustainable and reliable clean energy solutions worldwide.
