Robsys Robotic Systems Boosts Energy Efficiency at Kalyon Karapınar Solar Power Plant
Robsys Robotic Systems, a company with over 15 years of experience in energy-saving and cost-reducing technologies, has introduced its innovative, water-free solar panel cleaning robots at the Kalyon Karapınar Solar Power Plant in Turkey. As Europe’s largest solar power plant and one of the world’s largest, Kalyon Karapınar covers approximately 20 million square meters—the size of 2,600 football fields—and is located in Turkey’s only desert region.
The robots are designed to optimize energy efficiency by eliminating energy losses due to dust accumulation, without using water. This approach aligns with the region’s water sensitivity, helping conserve vital resources while boosting electricity output.
Robsys General Manager Turgut Çağatay emphasized the project's role in supporting Turkey's renewable energy goals. When completed, the plant's 3.5 million solar panels will generate 1,350 MW of energy, supplying power to two million households and preventing 1.5 million tons of carbon emissions annually. Robsys’ participation in the project underscores its commitment to a greener, sustainable future.
