R.Power Launches New Photovoltaic Farm in West Pomerania
R.Power, a leading Polish solar energy company, has launched a new photovoltaic farm in West Pomerania, adding to Poland's growing renewable energy sector. The new facility, located in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship, is part of the company's strategy to expand its green energy footprint in the region.
The new farm boasts a capacity of 35 megawatts (MW), which is expected to significantly contribute to the local and national electricity grid. This project is a part of R.Power's broader plan to develop over 1 gigawatt (GW) of solar capacity in Poland by 2025.
R.Power's CEO, Przemysław Pięta, emphasized the importance of this development in the context of Poland's energy transition. "This new photovoltaic farm in West Pomerania represents a significant step towards achieving our renewable energy goals and reducing carbon emissions," Pięta stated.
The farm will provide enough electricity to power approximately 15,000 households annually, significantly reducing reliance on coal and other non-renewable energy sources. The project also underscores R.Power's commitment to sustainability and the EU's renewable energy targets.
Construction of the photovoltaic farm began in late 2023 and was completed in record time, thanks to the collaborative efforts of local contractors and R.Power's experienced engineering team. The farm is expected to start operations in the third quarter of 2024.
This project aligns with Poland's national strategy to increase the share of renewable energy in its energy mix, aiming for 23% by 2030. The government has been supporting such initiatives through various subsidies and incentives to promote clean energy investments.
