Polish Hydrogen Buses Expand to Another French City
Polish hydrogen bus manufacturer Solaris has expanded its reach in France, delivering its eco-friendly vehicles to the city of Dijon. The move marks another significant step in Solaris' strategy to strengthen its presence in the European market, particularly in the realm of sustainable urban transport.
Solaris, a well-known producer of hydrogen-powered buses, has successfully entered the French market, with its latest deployment in Dijon. This delivery adds to the company's growing portfolio in France, which already includes cities like Amiens, Versailles, and Orléans.
The buses supplied to Dijon are the Urbino 12 hydrogen models, renowned for their zero-emission technology and efficiency. These buses utilize hydrogen fuel cells to generate electricity, which powers the vehicle and produces only water vapor as an emission, making them an ideal solution for reducing urban pollution.
The Dijon order includes a fleet of ten Urbino 12 hydrogen buses, which will be integrated into the city's public transportation network. This deployment is part of Dijon's broader strategy to modernize its public transport system and reduce its carbon footprint.
Mathieu Fleury, the mayor of Dijon, expressed his support for the initiative, highlighting the city's commitment to sustainable development and innovative solutions for public transport. He stated that the addition of hydrogen buses is a critical step towards achieving their environmental goals.
