PKO Bank Polski Signs PLN 554 Million Financing Agreement with Energix Polska for 120 MW Wind Farms
PKO Bank Polski, as part of a consortium, has signed a financing agreement with Energix Polska, a subsidiary of Energix Renewable Energies Ltd. The agreement concerns the financing of wind farms with a total capacity of 120 MW, located in the communes of Kozielice, Bielice, and Banie in Pyrzyce County, the commune of Gryfino in Gryfino County (West Pomeranian Voivodeship), and the commune of Kisielice in Iława County (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship). PKO Bank Polski’s contribution amounts to PLN 277 million, while the total value of the agreement is PLN 554 million.
The wind farm construction was fully financed by Energix Renewable Energies Ltd., and the funds obtained from the leveraged loan will be invested in further renewable energy projects in Poland and the United States. Energix, which has been operating in Poland since 2013, currently has 314 MW of projects in operation, 190 MW under construction or at advanced stages of development, and 1,100 MW in early development.
PKO Bank Polski, the leader of the Polish banking sector, had total assets of PLN 501.5 billion at the end of 2023 and has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2004.
