Julia Daviy Berezovska Opens CISOLAR & GREENBATTERY 2024, Urges Southeast Europe to Take a Stronger Role in Clean Energy for Regional Stability
Julia Daviy Berezovska, sustainability innovator, Co-Founder of Ibcentre, and Founding Director of the Sustainable Innovation Council, opened CISOLAR & GREENBATTERY 2024 with a call for Southeast Europe to take a stronger role in the European continent and global clean energy transition overall. The Sustainable Energy Expo: CISOLAR & GREENBATTERY, the European largest solar and energy storage business platform devoted to the emerging European new energy markets, has gathered top industry leaders, investors, and policymakers in Bucharest to drive renewable energy development and energy security across wider Central and Eastern Europe.
Daviy Berezovska emphasized the Sixth Tech Wave as an era defined by renewable energy and sustainable technology, a shift critical to Southeast Europe’s energy security and economic stability. “This region holds significant potential to contribute to the European and global clean energy shift,” she stated, highlighting opportunities for local solar and battery production, green hydrogen hubs, and EV infrastructure.
For Southeast Europe to achieve this, however, Daviy Berezovska urged a rethinking of current approaches. “To truly advance, the region must streamline processes to support solar and battery manufacturing, scale grid capacity, and create an ecosystem that fosters high-impact, planet-positive innovations,” she explained.
Underscoring the strategic importance of the energy transition, she noted that “clean energy is not just an environmental imperative but a foundation for long-term energy security and resilience.” Events like CISOLAR & GREENBATTERY, she added, are essential platforms to build impactful partnerships and turn ambition into scalable solutions.
The three-day Sustainable Energy Expo: CISOLAR & GREENBATTERY, held in Bucharest from October 15-17, showcased a comprehensive solar energy and energy storage exhibition alongside multiple conferences, workshops, and an industry awards ceremony, solidifying its position as Southeastern Europe’s largest event in its field. Drawing over 1,650 participants, 54 exhibitors, and more than 60 speakers from 20+ countries, the event underscored the region’s significant role in the global clean energy transition.
CISOLAR, along with the broader Sustainable Energy Forum (SEF), has built a legacy as the premier business platform and lead-generation powerhouse for global and regional players entering emerging markets. Notably, over 70% of current projects in the region can trace their origins or development to these influential platforms, underscoring their critical role in driving clean energy growth across Southeastern Europe and beyond.
Among the sponsors of CISOLAR & GREENBATTERY 2024 are industry leaders including Jinko ESS, SolarSK, Ingeteam, Esco Voltaj, Recom, Solarpro, KENO, Odeskabel, Aiko Solar, TGS, Fiodorov & Partners, PVcase, and Afenex, each playing a pivotal role in advancing the solar and energy storage sectors in the region.
