Ingeteam Participates in CISOLAR&GREEN BATTERY 2024 to Drive the Region's Energy Transition
Ingeteam, a leading provider of advanced technological solutions for the renewable energy sector, proudly announces its participation in CISOLAR&GREEN BATTERY 2024 Bucharest, the premier platform for solar, energy storage, and sustainable energy technologies in the emerging European markets. Organized by Ibcentre, the 12th edition of the annual event will take place in Bucharest (Grand Hotel Bucharest and Laminor Arena) from October 15-17, 2024, and will bring together global and regional leaders to drive forward the clean energy transition across Central and Eastern Europe.
Why Romania? Future Prospects
Romania holds significant potential in the solar energy sector. With approximately 210 days of sunshine per year and being classified in European Zone B in terms of insolation, the country is well-positioned to expand its use of solar power and achieve its ecological transition goals to a cleaner and more efficient energy future. Ingeteam, with its cutting-edge technology and extensive international experience, is ready to contribute significantly to this transformation.
To date, Ingeteam has installed 90 MW of photovoltaic (PV) capacity and 48 MW/192 MWh of energy storage systems (BESS) in Romania. This highlights the company’s ability to support the country in meeting its decarbonization targets by providing state-of-the-art technologies that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the energy system.
“We are experiencing a crucial moment for the development of energy storage.” - says Stefano Domenicali, Vice-President and CEO of Ingeteam Italia – “We need the commitment of European countries to achieve their decarbonization objectives and Romania is one of the most sensitive countries and continues to invest in renewable energy with the aim of making its energy matrix, already among the most balanced in Europe, even more sustainable and Ingeteam is fully prepared to provide
its robust technology, tested with the main battery technologies on the market.”
New 46.476 MWp Photovoltaic Project
Ingeteam is currently supplying inverters for a major 46.476 MWp solar project in Romania. This project will be a crucial step towards Romania’s clean energy goals, contributing to the target of 8 GW of solar capacity by 2030. This capacity will help Romania achieve 24% of its gross final electricity consumption from renewable sources.
Focus on Energy Storage: Ingeteam’s Key Role
In addition to the solar sector, Romania is heavily investing in energy storage, an area where Ingeteam is solidifying its leadership. In 2024, the company supplied its technology for Europe’s largest energy storage project, with a capacity of 200 MW / 800 MWh, located in Italy. This project highlights how the capacity market is key to the development of energy storage, which is considered the ideal solution to ensure grid stability and the control of price energy.
