Impact Clean Power Technology Extends Cooperation with Solaris for Battery Systems
Impact Clean Power Technology, a leader in battery production for electric vehicles and energy storage, announced on Monday the extension of its cooperation with Solaris Bus & Coach for 2024-2027. The collaboration, ongoing since 2012, will see the supply of innovative next-generation HE 100 batteries, featuring higher energy density and power with reduced weight and volume.
These battery systems will be manufactured at the new GigafactoryX plant in Pruszków, near Warsaw. "Six batteries will be produced per hour," said Bartek Kras, vice president of Impact Clean Power Technology. The company did not disclose the value of the four-year deliveries.
Solaris, a European leader in zero-emission city buses, has delivered and contracted over 3,000 battery vehicles in the past 11 years, many using Impact's battery solutions. The cooperation includes batteries for Solaris' electric, hydrogen, and trolleybuses.
GigafactoryX, set to boost Impact's production capacity to 1.2 GWh in 2024 and over 4 GWh in 2027, will be one of Europe's largest battery factories. The facility, covering 16.3 thousand square meters, will include a battery testing facility and an advanced R&D center.
Last autumn, the Famur Group (now Grenevia) acquired a majority stake in Impact Clean Power Technology for over EUR 59 million, aiming to strengthen its position in electromobility and energy storage. Impact, operational since 2007, employs over 290 people and has delivered over 20,000 battery systems in Europe, New Zealand, and the United States.
