During his first visit to Romania, Makhtar Diop, the general director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), announced two significant agreements. Firstly, IFC partnered with BRD Groupe Societe Generale for a risk guarantee of up to 700 million euros, enabling BRD to grant loans of up to 315 million euros for climate-related initiatives and women-owned small businesses. Secondly, IFC granted Warehouses De Pauw NV (WDP) a "green" loan of approximately €300 million to expand its portfolio of green and energy-efficient assets in Romania.
