Hynfra Energy Storage Secures 153 MW in Poland's 2029 Capacity Market Auction
Hynfra Energy Storage has secured 153 MW of capacity in Poland's main capacity market auction for the 2029 delivery year, the company announced. The winning bids included two projects: BESS9 in Warsaw, with a capacity of 100.2 MW and 200.4 MWh, and BESS10 in Zabrze, with a capacity of 203.7 MW and 814.7 MWh.
CEO Jacek Wiśniewski stated, "The capacity market plays an extremely important role in ensuring the stability and security of energy supplies in Poland. Winning the auction is a confirmation of the highest competences of the entire Hynfra Energy Storage team, which we hope will participate in the market to an increasing extent."
The auction concluded in the seventh round with a closing price of PLN 264.9/kW/year. The total volume of offered capacity obligations reached 8,053.577 MW. Final results will be validated by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office in January 2025.
Hynfra Energy Storage, a subsidiary of Hynfra PSA, specializes in "storage as a service" solutions and technologies for renewable hydrogen production.
