Greenyard Logistics Polska to Install 2 MWp Solar System at Żabia Wola Facility Using PV-as-a-Service Model
Greenyard Logistics Polska, part of the international Greenyard group, is set to install a photovoltaic (PV) system at its logistics center in Żabia Wola, near Warsaw, as part of its sustainability efforts. The company specializes in food logistics, supplying fresh and processed produce to major European retailers, with an annual turnover of EUR 5.1 billion.
The new PV system, built by EDP Energia Polska, will consist of 4,400 panels with a total capacity of 2 MWp. This installation will reduce Greenyard’s CO2 emissions by 1.3 thousand tons annually—an amount absorbed by over 220 thousand trees. The project will be completed using the PV-as-a-Service model, under which EDP covers the investment, operation, and maintenance costs.
Greenyard signed a 15-year PV-as-a-Service energy supply agreement with EDP, allowing the company to benefit from renewable energy without upfront capital. This move follows similar investments in green energy by other retail giants like Biedronka and ALDI, both of which have also partnered with EDP Energia Polska. EDP currently holds over 100 MWp of contracted power in Poland.
