Eldrive Opens First Electric Vehicle Charging Park in Lithuania, Plans Expansion to Bulgaria by 2025
Eldrive officially launched the first electric vehicle (EV) charging park in Lithuania and the Baltic States today. The park can charge up to 20 EVs simultaneously, featuring individual charging points with a capacity of 200 kV DC and a total installed capacity exceeding 2 MW. It marks the first facility of this scale and type in the region and one of the few across the EU.
The 1.5-hectare park includes a commercial building of 318 sq.m. equipped with rooftop photovoltaics, housing a café, a shop, parent-child rooms, and spaces for work and rest. Managed by partners from Reitan AS, it features a “Caffeine” café and a “Narvesen” store. Reitan Convenience AS, a subsidiary, operates across seven markets with over 2,000 stores and a 2023 turnover exceeding EUR 10 billion.
The park will expand to include charging stations for buses and trucks, alongside a battery energy storage system (BESS). Eldrive plans to replicate these parks in Bulgaria, Romania, and Lithuania by 2025.
The distinction between Eldrive's charging hubs and parks lies in the infrastructure focus and the integration of additional services like food, drinks, and travel goods. Earlier this year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested EUR 15 million in Eldrive Holding. By 2028, Eldrive plans to operate 7,400 charging stations, including 2,000 in Bulgaria, adding to its existing 1,600 stations in Bulgaria, Romania, and Lithuania.
