Eco Wave Power Partners with MOQ Engineering for Portugal Wave Energy Project

Eco Wave Power Global AB (publ) (Nasdaq: WAVE), a leader in onshore wave energy, has announced a key collaboration with MOQ Engineering, a Portuguese firm, to finalize the design and load calculations for its groundbreaking wave energy project in Porto, Portugal. The project, part of a 20 MW Concession Agreement with Administração dos Portos do Douro, Leixões e Viana do Castelo, S.A. (APDL), aims for a 2026 launch.
The innovative initiative will showcase Eco Wave Power’s proprietary wave energy technology and feature an underwater wave energy museum in “The Gallery,” beneath the breakwater where energy conversion equipment will be housed. The project aligns with Portugal’s renewable energy target of generating 85% of its electricity from renewables by 2030.
Upon completing MOQ’s work, Eco Wave Power will submit the final execution project to APDL for approval, marking the transition to production. This first MW-scale wave energy project in Porto will reduce the port’s carbon footprint, create jobs, and enhance Portugal’s renewable energy sector.
CEO Inna Braverman stated, “MOQ Engineering’s expertise ensures the highest standards for our Portuguese project, bringing us closer to commercializing wave energy globally.”
MOQ Partner Manuel Cardoso expressed pride in contributing to this pioneering initiative, emphasizing the use of advanced technologies like Building Information Modelling (BIM).
With ongoing projects in Taiwan and Los Angeles, Eco Wave Power continues to lead in renewable energy innovation, supported by institutions like the EU Regional Development Fund and Innovate UK.
