Croatia's 4 ENCRO Plans to Build 20 MW Klade Wind Farm

Croatian renewable energy company 4 ENCRO announced plans to construct a 20-megawatt (MW) wind farm in the Klade region. The project, named the Klade Wind Farm, is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and support Croatia's transition to sustainable energy sources.

The Klade Wind Farm will consist of several wind turbines strategically placed to maximize energy production. 4 ENCRO estimates that the wind farm will generate approximately 60 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually, enough to power around 15,000 households. The project is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions, contributing to Croatia's environmental targets.

Mislav Antolović, CEO of 4 ENCRO, highlighted the importance of this project for the company's growth and for Croatia's energy sector. "The Klade Wind Farm represents a crucial step in our strategy to enhance renewable energy capacity in Croatia. It will not only provide clean energy but also create jobs and stimulate local economic development," Antolović said.

The construction of the wind farm is set to begin in early 2025, with completion expected by the end of 2026. The project will be financed through a combination of equity and debt, with 4 ENCRO already securing a significant portion of the necessary funding. The company is also in discussions with potential partners and investors to ensure the project's success.

The Klade Wind Farm is part of Croatia's broader strategy to increase the share of renewable energy in its energy mix. The government has set ambitious targets to achieve 36.4% of energy consumption from renewable sources by 2030. Projects like the Klade Wind Farm are essential to meeting these goals and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development has expressed support for the project, recognizing its potential to contribute to national energy security and environmental sustainability.
