Columbus Energy Secures Brno Photovoltaic Installation Contract
A company belonging to the Columbus Energy group has signed a contract to install photovoltaic systems on public utility buildings in one of the largest Czech cities. Columbus may be one of the beneficiaries of the growing interest in photovoltaics in the Czech Republic.
The Czech company from the Columbus Energy Group became the sole contractor of the first part of the tender for Brno, which we reported on earlier this year. At that time, Columbus Energy as won the tender for the delivery and installation of photovoltaic installations on the roofs of buildings belonging to the city.
The Czech company Columbusa is among three entities selected by the Brno authorities in a tender. The entire project concerns the supply of photovoltaic installations to 675 public buildings.
Based on the signed agreement with SAKO Brno Solar as – a company that is a member of the Statutory Concern of the City of Brno – Columbus Energy as will be responsible for the comprehensive implementation of photovoltaic installations. The agreement includes the delivery and installation of PV installations on the roofs of schools and kindergartens in Brno. The total value of the order is PLN 5 million, and the deadline for its implementation has been set at 120 days.
Columbus Energy entered the Czech photovoltaic market in mid-2022. At that time, it acquired a 52% stake in Columbus Energy as. Columbus's strategy assumed entering the Czech market with an offer not only of photovoltaic installations, but also heat pumps, energy storage systems and chargers for electric cars.
In September last year, Columbus strengthened its position in the Czech Republic by acquiring 100 percent of the shares in Taurean sro, which had a 36 percent stake in Columbus Energy as (the Polish company made a similar move in the case of Columbus Energy Slovensko sro, a company established earlier in Slovakia, in which Taurean was also a shareholder).
