Clifford Chance Assists Erste Group Bank AG and BCR in €214M Wind Project Financing
A multi-jurisdictional team from Clifford Chance has advised Erste Group Bank AG and BCR on the €214 million financing for the development of a 99.2 MW onshore wind project acquired by Nala Renewables from OX2. The deal includes a 12-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a multinational corporation.
The project team was led by Nadia Badea (Partner), Andreea Șișman (Counsel), Carmen Buzenche (Senior Associate), Adelina Seserman (Associate), and Georgiana Cupas (Lawyer) from the Bucharest office. They were supported by Jared Grubb (Partner) and Giuseppe Chiaula (Associate) from Munich, and Philip Walsh (Counsel) from Amsterdam.
The Clifford Chance team provided legal assistance on financial structuring, drafting, and negotiating financial documents, and complex negotiations for the PPA. Nadia Badea, Head of M&A Energy Practice in Bucharest, highlighted the firm's expertise in complex energy sector projects, emphasizing their role in major renewable energy transactions in Romania.
