Austria introduces “Made in Europe” solar subsidy bonus
Austria has introduced a 'made in Europe' subsidy bonus for European photovoltaic components under the Renewable Energy Expansion Act. The Ministry of Climate Action and Energy aims to increase the use of European-made components in solar installations. Vice-chancellor Werner Kogler emphasizes the importance of supporting European production against international competition. Labour and economics minister Martin Kocher advocates for fair competition in decarbonisation technologies. The European Union has launched the Solar Charter to boost the competitiveness of the European PV manufacturing industry.
